DAY 1: WELCOME TO CUSCO - HOTEL ACCOMMODATION + CITY TOUR
  • Reception at the airport.
  • Transfer to the selected hotel, where you will have free time to acclimatize and adjust to the altitude.
  • In the afternoon, at 1:00 p.m., we will pick you up from your hotel to begin our tour.
  • We will visit the following sites:
    • The Temple of Koricancha, an important enclosure that houses the best examples of Inca construction and where the sun god “Inti” was worshipped.
    • Sacsayhuaman Temple, which has a strategic location from where you can have a panoramic view of the city of Cusco. Sacsayhuaman is famous for its enormous polished and molded stones, some of which are 9m / 30ft tall and weigh 350 tons. All these immense stones were joined with great precision.
    • Qenqo, a center of worship dedicated to the Puma god and the site where religious sacrifices were performed.
    • Puca Pucara, known as the “red fortress” due to the reddish hue its rocks acquire at twilight. It was also considered an Inca military center.
    • Tambomachay Temple, a site for water worship.
  • Return to the main square and overnight stay at the hotel in Cusco.
  • On our second day, around 7:50 am, we will pick you up from your hotel.
  • We will depart from the city of Cusco towards the natural storehouse of the Incas, and we will travel along the sacred river, the Vilcanota or Urubamba. This day will allow us to get to know the customs of the local inhabitants up close.
  • During our tour, we will visit the picturesque colonial mestizo town of Pisac. This town is also home to one of the Inca cities that captivates many visitors.
  • Next, we will head to another town for lunch, where we will enjoy a buffet prepared with local products.
  • Our next stop is Ollantaytambo, known as the “living Inca city.” This city was built for the purpose of administration and monitoring potential invasions. After visiting this important site, we will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and get a clear idea of its urban distribution.
  • Finally, we will go to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the train that will take us to the town of Machu Picchu.
  • At 7:00 pm, we will take the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). We will arrive at approximately 8:45 pm and transfer you to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay in Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes).

Note: The highlights of the day include Pisac, a picturesque colonial mestizo town with an archaeological site that showcases stunning architecture on the mountains; Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch prepared with local products; Ollantaytambo, the “living Inca city” with remarkable constructions that once served as an administrative center; and Chinchero, a textile village that has preserved its traditions for generations. Finally, we will return to Cusco.

  • After a good rest in the town of Machu Picchu and receiving instructions from our guide, we will proceed to the bus station. The bus will take us on a 45-minute journey, ascending 400 meters in altitude, to the marvel of the world, Machu Picchu.
  • Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary, we will begin our experience with our guide, visiting the most important places such as temples, plazas, astronomical centers, and other sectors for approximately 3 hours. After the guided tour, there is an optional opportunity to ascend the Huayna Picchu mountain by purchasing an additional entrance ticket.
  • After exploring the Inca city, we will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes to board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
  • Upon arrival at the Ollantaytambo station, our transfer will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco.
  • Overnight stay in Cusco.
  • Breakfast at the hotel. At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport, depending on your flight schedule.
