Huchuy Qosqo 2 Days Tour
Descripción:
Huchuy Qosqo is a beautiful archaeological site located near the Sacred Valley, close to the town of Lamay. This trail was part of the official Inca roads to connect Cusco with other important places and is now one of the best options for short hiking outside of Cusco. After visiting the fantastic Huchuy Qosqo complex, travelers can continue to Ollantaytambo and take a train to Machu Picchu.
Day 1: Cusco - Tauca - Huchuy Qosqo
At 6 am, travelers are picked up from their hotels in our private transportation and driven to the interesting village of Tauca. We will start the uphill hike for 3 hours, and once we reach the mountain peak, there will be breathtaking views of the high peaks of the Vilcanota mountain range. We will then continue our downhill hike, passing through fields and pastures where animals graze. Around Huchuy Qosqo, we will encounter the typical flora of the area and follow a beautiful Inca trail to the famous Inca site. Upon arrival at the Inca Site, our guide will share the history of this place. Huchuy Qosqo, at an elevation of 3,650m/11,975ft (which means “Little Cuzco”), is a remarkable Inca complex. It features finely crafted stone works in large buildings such as the Kallanka (rectangular hall), some residential and defensive neighborhoods made of stone and adobe. Huchuy Qosqo is situated on a plateau, surrounded by Inca agricultural terraces, and offers excellent views of the Vilcanota mountain range. Afterwards, we will descend to Lamay at an elevation of 2,900m/9,514ft, where we will take our transportation to the Ollantaytambo train station that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay. Meals: Lunch and dinner Hiking time: 7 hours Distance: 16kms/10 miles
Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco.
In the morning, after breakfast, we will take a bus to the Inca city. Once inside, we will have a private guided tour of 3 hours to explore and take photos of the magical Inca city of Machu Picchu, accompanied by our knowledgeable guide. Optionally, you can ascend to Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, or hike to the Sun Gate.
