DAY 1: CUSCO - ABRA DE MALAGA - SANTA MARIA.

Our adventure begins with the pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, approximately at 7:00 a.m. We will head towards Abra De Malaga (4320 meters above sea level) in our transportation. At this location, we will prepare our equipment and start our cycling activity after receiving a briefing from the guide. We will have fun riding our bikes, descending through diverse landscapes, from snow-covered mountains like Nevado de la Verónica (5316 meters above sea level) to the semi-tropical jungle covered in lush vegetation and vibrant colors. The duration of our ride will be approximately 2 hours. We will then arrive at the town of Santa Maria, where we will enjoy our lunch. In the afternoon, we will have the option to engage in another recommended activity, rafting. Our first day will conclude with dinner and overnight stay.

After a good breakfast, our approximately 7-hour hike will begin. Under the morning sky, amidst ascents and descents, the most exciting part of this day will be crossing a perfectly preserved section of the Inca Trail. It’s an experience in the middle of the high jungle, surrounded by plantations such as coca, fruit trees, rivers, and exotic animals native to the region, undoubtedly an unforgettable experience. Additionally, this day will offer us the opportunity to enjoy the Cocalmayo hot springs, a relaxing moment after our hike. Finally, we will arrive at the town of Santa Teresa (1650 meters above sea level), where we will spend the night.

We will then descend along a beautiful stone trail to our second campsite at Pacaymayu (3,600 meters / 11,811 feet). After lunch, take a well-deserved rest. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner and spend the night at the campsite.

After breakfast, the journey to Machu Picchu will be filled with nature, adventure, and adrenaline. The convenient feature of this day is the pleasant weather, ranging between 25 and 30°C. On this day, we will have the opportunity to optionally engage in the activity of Zip lining, which lasts approximately 2 hours. Then, we will arrive at the Hidroeléctrica station, from where we will continue walking alongside the train tracks until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes. Along the way, we will have our lunch, contemplating the majestic mountains that are part of the Andes. We will conclude the walk in the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the third night.

We will visit Runkurakay (3,760 meters / 12,335 feet) and continue to the second pass at (3,900 meters / 12,795 feet), where we will take a brief rest. We will then descend and visit the archaeological site of Sayacmarca (3,625 meters / 11,893 feet). Continuing our journey, we will reach Phuyupatamarka (3,600 meters / 11,811 feet), where we will rest and take photographs. At the end of this day filled with passes, we will follow a path that leads to our final campsite, Wiñaywayna (2,750 meters / 8,860 feet).

This is the most important day of the tour, as we get to explore one of the wonders of the world. Our tour will begin according to the reserved schedule, boarding the bus that will take us to the entrance of Machu Picchu. Once inside the archaeological park, your guide will provide a 3-hour tour, visiting the most important places such as the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, etc. After our visit, we will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to Cusco.
