Maras & Moray ATV Tour
Description:
Maras Moray is an archaeological site located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in the Cusco region of Peru. This place is known for its fascinating circular terraces of different sizes and depths, resembling a natural amphitheater.
It is believed that the terraces were built by the ancient Incas for agricultural purposes, as they provide a unique microclimate that allows the cultivation of a variety of plants and crops. Additionally, it is believed that the terraces were also used for agricultural experiments and astronomical observations.
Day 1
The ATV tour begins at 7:00 am with the pick-up from your hotel (except if it is located outside the city center). We then head towards Cruzpata in our private transportation. Cruzpata is a small community located on the route to the Sacred Valley, about 40 minutes from Cusco. Here, there will be a pre-tour training session with explanations and some tips from the guide. We will start our adventure at the Maras Salt Mines and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then, we will head to the archaeological and enigmatic site of Moray, where you will take a break and have time to explore the area. At both sites, there will be enough time to receive information and take photos. Finally, we will return through the cultivated areas of Maras to our camp in Cruzpata, where the driver will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco. The driving tour lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and covers a distance of approximately 50 km. There will be stops at viewpoints and special places for photo opportunities, where you can capture the everyday life of the people living there and where nature showcases its utmost splendor to impress us at every moment.
